PITTI IMMAGINE REDEFINES ITS FUTURE: A NEW GOVERNANCE FOR A NEW ERA OF FASHION
In a decisive moment for the global fashion ecosystem, Pitti Immagine enters a new chapter—one that blends strategic continuity with bold transformation. The first meeting of the newly appointed Board of Directors marks not only a leadership transition, but a renewed declaration of intent: to reposition Pitti as an unshakable pillar of international fashion.
At the center of this evolution stands Antonio De Matteis, confirmed as President, whose vision emphasizes a “dynamic balance between continuity and discontinuity.” This is not a rhetorical statement—it is a roadmap. A strategy designed to confront a fashion industry reshaped by post-pandemic realities, technological acceleration, and shifting global markets.
The appointment of Ivano Cauli as Chief Executive Officer signals operational strength and internal coherence. Formerly General Director, Cauli represents institutional memory and forward-thinking leadership. His mandate is clear: to translate legacy into innovation, and structure into agility. He steps into this role at a critical inflection point—where resilience must evolve into reinvention.
Alongside him, Raffaello Napoleone takes on a pivotal role within the Board, overseeing International and Institutional Relations. His global network and diplomatic expertise are expected to reinforce Pitti’s strategic positioning across continents, strengthening alliances and opening new corridors for influence.
BEYOND RECOVERY: A PLATFORM FOR GLOBAL REBIRTH
The pandemic disrupted every layer of the fashion supply chain. Pitti Immagine was no exception. Yet today, the narrative is no longer about recovery—it is about resurgence.
Pitti is not merely an event organizer. It is a cultural engine, an economic catalyst, and a global meeting point where creativity intersects with commerce. The “Made in Italy” identity—rooted in craftsmanship, excellence, and authenticity—finds in Pitti its most authoritative stage.
As anticipation builds for upcoming editions, particularly the symbolic milestone of Pitti Uomo 110, the message is unmistakable: the world is watching, and the industry is ready.
A COLLECTIVE EXPECTATION, A GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY
From Florence to the farthest creative capitals, the expectation surrounding Pitti Immagine transcends fashion. It speaks to identity, recovery, and future vision.
This new leadership team carries more than operational responsibility—they carry a collective hope. A hope that Pitti will not simply return to pre-COVID levels, but redefine them.
Because Pitti Immagine is not just a platform.
It is a signal.
A direction.
A global language.
And today, that language is being rewritten.

Florence, April 22, 2026 — The newly appointed Board of Directors of Pitti Immagine has officially convened for the first time under the presidency of Antonio De Matteis. The Board of Statutory Auditors remains fully confirmed, with Massimo Bianchi as Chairman, alongside Deborah Sassorossi and Guido Ceron, with Giuseppe Cristiani and Roberto Vanni as alternate auditors.
In his opening remarks, President De Matteis expressed gratitude to Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and Confindustria Moda for their continued trust:
“We are entering a complex yet decisive phase. Our commitment is to strengthen Pitti Immagine’s role as a leading platform not only for Florence but for the international sectors we represent.”
The Board has appointed Ivano Cauli, currently General Manager, as Chief Executive Officer. Subsequently, Raffaello Napoleone has been named Executive Advisor for International and Institutional Relations.
De Matteis emphasized that recent strategic discussions with shareholders have shaped a roadmap balancing continuity with innovation. This is reflected both in the inclusion of new entrepreneurial profiles from sectors such as high-end food and niche perfumery, and in the renewed executive structure.
Vice President Antonella Mansi highlighted the urgency of the current transition:
“The next two to three years will be decisive for the future of Pitti Immagine and the CFMI Group over the next decade. We are navigating a complex industrial and geopolitical transformation that is reshaping global trade, mobility, and the fashion sector itself.”
She noted that evolving participation models in trade fairs and shrinking margins require rigorous cost management alongside the exploration of new opportunities, while Florence itself undergoes significant infrastructural transformation.
The Board also confirmed the Supervisory Body and approved appointments within subsidiary entities: Agostino Poletto remains Sole Director of Stazione Leopolda Srl; the Board of Fondazione Pitti Discovery has been reconfirmed with Antonella Mansi as President, alongside Cauli, De Matteis, Moschini, and Napoleone, with Lapo Cianchi serving as Secretary General.
