BOTTEGA FRUIT SPRITZES TAKE CENTER STAGE THIS SUMMER
From the Italian Northeast to contemporary fruit-forward interpretations, the timeless Spritz embraces the colours, aromas and freshness of summer.
The Spritz, now enjoyed and recognized around the world, is one of the defining symbols of the Italian aperitivo. Its roots lie in northeastern Italy, particularly in cities such as Venice, Padua, Trieste and Treviso, where the tradition has flourished for more than a century.
According to the most widely accepted theories, the Spritz originated during the period of Habsburg rule. Austrian soldiers, having adopted the local custom of drinking wine in traditional taverns, preferred to dilute it with water. One of the most widespread interpretations connects the name to the German verb spritzen, meaning “to splash” or “to spray”.
Over time, the recipe evolved with the addition of bitters, seltzer or soda and a slice of lemon or orange, giving rise to countless interpretations of one of Italy’s most emblematic expressions of conviviality.
WHEN FRUIT MEETS ITALIAN BUBBLES
Among the more recent interpretations are the creations by Bottega, featuring Limoncino and, alternatively, other fruit-based liqueurs.
Fresh, aromatic and refreshing, Bottega’s fruit Spritzes capture the spirit of summer while highlighting the encounter between Italian sparkling wine and the vibrant character of fruit.

THE ITALIAN APERITIVO, REIMAGINED
Lemon, melon and peach become the protagonists of three interpretations that celebrate summer through the universal language of the aperitivo.
Bottega’s Spritzes renew an Italian tradition while remaining faithful to its essence: a glass, Italian bubbles, fruit and the pleasure of sharing.
