Bottega celebrates the 2026 harvest through the living heritage of Veneto

Bottega has marked the conclusion of the 2026 grape harvest at its vineyards in Bibano di Godega, in the province of Treviso, with an event dedicated to the agricultural heritage, traditions and convivial culture of Veneto.

At the heart of the celebration was the hand harvesting of Glera grapes, the native variety at the centre of Prosecco DOC production. The ritual then moved beyond the vineyard itself, evoking the atmosphere of traditional rural celebrations in which the harvest represented not only the conclusion of an agricultural cycle, but also a moment of community, sharing and celebration.

Guests and vineyard workers gathered around the traditional farmer’s table, sharing bread, soppressa and cheese accompanied by a glass of Prosecco. The simple meal recalled an agricultural world in which food, wine and human relationships were naturally intertwined.

The celebration culminated in a symbolic barefoot grape-stomping ceremony, performed by members of the Compagnia de Calza di Venezia, wearing historic 18th-century Venetian costumes.

The evocative performance created a visual and cultural connection between the historical traditions of the Venetian Republic and the contemporary identity of Italian wine.

Rather than presenting the past as a museum piece, Bottega’s harvest initiative interprets heritage as something living, shared and continually renewed.

A ritual connecting land, people and culture

The Compagnia de Calza di Venezia: bringing history into the vineyard

The participation of the Compagnia de Calza di Venezia added a distinctive historical dimension to the event.

Inspired by the Venetian companies that organised celebrations and spectacles during the era of the Serenissima Republic, the group was revived in 1979 as Compagnia de Calza “I Antichi”.

Through performances and cultural initiatives, the association continues to reinterpret Venetian history, traditions and popular culture for contemporary audiences.

Its presence at the Bottega harvest created a symbolic bridge between Venetian history and modern Italian wine culture, placing the ancient grape-stomping ritual within a contemporary celebration of territory and identity.

A living expression of Italian craftsmanship
