FASHION TIGHTENS ITS LINK WITH BEAUTY

Pitti Fragranze strengthens its commitment to fashion designers entering the world of fragrance

Fashion and beauty are no longer parallel industries. They are increasingly part of the same cultural and creative ecosystem — and fragrance has become one of the most powerful points of convergence.

Pitti Fragranze continues to strengthen its support for fashion designers making their debut in olfaction. At the 24th edition of the event, the spotlight falls on Niccolò Pasqualetti, who will unveil his first three fragrance creations in Florence on Friday.

The initiative confirms a broader shift across the luxury landscape: fashion creates the visual language, while beauty translates that identity into another sensory dimension. Fragrance, in particular, gives designers the opportunity to extend their universe beyond clothing and transform a fashion signature into an olfactory experience.

NICCOLÒ PASQUALETTI: FROM FASHION TO OLFACTION

A finalist for the 2024 LVMH Prize, Pasqualetti returns to Florence as Fragranze’s guest designer with a trio of fragrances developed in collaboration with Mane and Italian perfumer Cristiano Canali.

The project is rooted in the same philosophy that informs his fashion: inclusivity, fluidity and freedom from conventional gender codes.

“I dress the individual, not the gender.”

That principle extends naturally into his fragrance debut. Rather than simply embracing the increasingly familiar language of unisex or genderless fragrance, Pasqualetti approaches olfaction as a space where identity can remain fluid, multiple and open to interpretation.

The three compositions were developed through a dialogue between Pasqualetti and Canali, bringing together notes and raw materials traditionally classified as either masculine or feminine.

The result is deliberately positioned beyond those categories, combining a refined Made in Italy sensibility with an experimental creative language consistent with Pasqualetti’s fashion universe.

The fragrances were developed at Mane’s Milan facility, while the bottles and packaging were also produced in Italy — reinforcing the project’s industrial and creative connection to the Italian ecosystem.

WHEN FASHION BECOMES AN OLFACTORY LANGUAGE

Pasqualetti’s transition into fragrance is not an isolated phenomenon.

Across the luxury market, fashion houses and independent designers are increasingly using fragrance and beauty to expand their identities, reach new audiences and build deeper relationships with consumers.

The dynamic is strategic as much as creative.

Fashion acts as a powerful cultural driver; beauty amplifies and translates that cultural capital into products, rituals and sensory experiences.

This is precisely where Pitti Immagine plays a distinctive role: bringing together different creative industries and creating a platform where fashion, fragrance, beauty, design, culture and business can interact rather than operate in isolation.

DANIELA ANDRIER: THE PERFUMER AS CREATIVE AUTHOR

The dialogue between fashion and fragrance will also extend to Daniela Andrier, one of the most influential noses working across the international luxury landscape.

Known for creating fragrances for major fashion and beauty names including Prada, Armani, Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta, Andrier is also preparing to launch her own maison.

Her trajectory reflects the evolution of the perfumer itself: no longer simply an invisible creator working behind a brand, but increasingly an author, cultural figure and creative identity in her own right.

THE NEXT FRONTIER OF LUXURY

The convergence between fashion and beauty is becoming one of the defining dynamics of contemporary luxury.

Fashion provides the image, codes and cultural narrative. Beauty transforms them into tangible products and daily rituals. Fragrance goes one step further: it turns identity into an invisible but deeply personal experience.

Pitti Fragranze 2026 therefore becomes more than a showcase for new perfumes. It becomes a meeting point between industries — a space where fashion designers, perfumers, fragrance houses and beauty players can redefine the boundaries of contemporary creativity.

Pasqualetti’s debut is a telling example: when fashion enters fragrance, it does not simply create another product. It creates another language.
