WHEN FASHION BECOMES FRAGRANCE
NICCOLÒ PASQUALETTI — THE NEW OLFACTORY FRONTIER OF MADE IN ITALY
WHEN FASHION BECOMES FRAGRANCE
NICCOLÒ PASQUALETTI
THE NEW OLFACTORY FRONTIER OF MADE IN ITALY
FLORENCE — SEPTEMBER 11, 2026
Fashion no longer stops at the silhouette.
It moves onto the skin.
It enters the air.
It becomes memory.
And in Florence, at Pitti Fragranze 2026, a new generation of Italian creativity is making that transition visible — and olfactory.
On Friday, September 11, at the Stazione Leopolda, Niccolò Pasqualetti steps into a new territory as the Special Guest of Pitti Fragranze, presenting his first fragrance collection in a project that extends his fashion language beyond clothing and into the invisible architecture of scent.
This is not simply a fashion designer launching perfume.
It is a designer expanding the boundaries of his own vocabulary.
THE GENERATION HAS CHANGED
Born in 1994, Niccolò Pasqualetti represents a generation of Italian creatives for whom fashion is no longer confined to categories.
His trajectory is already international.
A finalist of the 2024 LVMH Prize, Pasqualetti was subsequently selected as Guest Designer for the 108th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence in June 2025, where his menswear collection was presented through a special runway event.
His creative language is rooted in Italian heritage, yet refuses nostalgia.
It is precise without becoming conservative.
Experimental without becoming theatrical.
And deeply connected to craftsmanship without allowing craftsmanship to become a limitation.
That tension is precisely where Pasqualetti becomes interesting.
He does not simply reinterpret the past.
He destabilizes it.
WHEN THE GARMENT DISAPPEARS
There is a moment in every fashion story when the garment ceases to be enough.
The silhouette can communicate identity.
The fabric can communicate culture.
The object can communicate status.
But fragrance operates differently.
It is invisible, intimate and profoundly personal.
It does not occupy the body.
It becomes part of the body.
This is the territory Pasqualetti enters at Pitti Fragranze 2026.
The official programme presents his project as the meeting point between a young fashion designer and his first fragrance collection, with Pasqualetti joined by Italian perfumer Cristiano Canali of MANE.
The transition is therefore not from fashion to beauty.
It is from fashion to olfaction.
From visible form to invisible presence.
From what we wear to what remains after we leave.
MADE IN ITALY — WITHOUT THE POSTCARD
The most compelling aspect of the project may be its relationship with Italian manufacturing culture.
The collection has been developed with Italian perfumer Cristiano Canali, working from MANE’s Milan headquarters, while the bottles and packaging have also been entrusted to Italian companies.
This matters.
Because in Pasqualetti’s universe, Made in Italy is not a decorative label.
It is an ecosystem.
A network of artisans.
Materials.
Technical knowledge.
Local production.
Human relationships.
And an ability to transform experimentation into an object of lasting value.
This is the Italian luxury proposition at its most contemporary:
heritage without stagnation.
THE PERFUMER MEETS THE DESIGNER
The dialogue with Cristiano Canali introduces another dimension.
Fashion designers often approach fragrance through imagery.
Pasqualetti approaches it through curiosity and knowledge.
His longstanding interest in perfumery has developed into an unusually informed creative dialogue with the world of raw materials and composition.
The result is not conceived as a simple fragrance extension of a fashion label.
It is conceived as a new language.
A parallel universe.
A different way of translating identity.
Here, the designer is no longer asking:
“What should I make people wear?”
The question becomes:
“What should remain in the air after they leave?”
BEYOND “FOR HIM” AND “FOR HER”
The project also challenges one of the oldest structures in fragrance communication: gender.
Pitti describes the collection as three fragrances that transfer the principles of inclusivity already present in Pasqualetti’s fashion into olfactory language. Rather than relying on conventional “unisex” or “genderless” classifications, the compositions combine materials historically associated with masculine and feminine olfactory imaginaries.
This is not merely a marketing strategy.
It reflects a broader cultural movement.
Luxury is progressively moving away from prescribing identity and toward allowing individuals to construct it.
The fragrance does not tell you who you are.
You decide what it becomes on your skin.
THE NEW LUXURY IS CULTURAL
This is where Niccolò Pasqualetti becomes more than a promising young designer.
He becomes a cultural proposition.
His work sits at the intersection of:
FASHION.
CRAFT.
ART.
PERFUMERY.
IDENTITY.
ITALIAN CULTURE.
GLOBAL LUXURY.
And that intersection is precisely where the next generation of luxury is being built.
The new luxury consumer is not simply buying an object.
They are buying a narrative.
A point of view.
A cultural position.
A sensorial experience.
Pasqualetti understands this instinctively.
FLORENCE AS THE STAGE
There could hardly be a more appropriate setting.
Florence is not merely the geographical location of this launch.
It is part of the narrative.
A city historically associated with craftsmanship, fashion, art, Renaissance culture and the transformation of raw materials into objects of extraordinary beauty.
At Stazione Leopolda, one of Florence’s most distinctive cultural venues, fashion and fragrance meet in a contemporary environment capable of translating that heritage into a global language.
And Pitti Fragranze itself is increasingly international: the 2026 edition brings together more than 260 brands, with approximately 75% coming from outside Italy.
The message is therefore unmistakable.
Italian creativity is not closing itself inside its heritage.
It is exporting its imagination.
SEPTEMBER 11 — THE MOMENT

UniCredit Fragranze Arena.
Stazione Leopolda.
Florence.
Niccolò Pasqualetti.
Cristiano Canali.
A conversation between fashion and perfumery.
And, behind it, a larger question:
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A DESIGNER STOPS DESIGNING ONLY WHAT WE SEE — AND STARTS DESIGNING WHAT WE FEEL?
That is the real story.
Not another perfume.
Not another fashion collaboration.
Not another celebrity fragrance.
But the expansion of a creative universe.
THE NEW GENERATION DOES NOT ASK FOR PERMISSION
Pasqualetti belongs to a generation that does not necessarily want to inherit the old architecture of luxury.
It wants to redesign it.
The rules are changing.
The boundaries between fashion, fragrance, art, design and culture are becoming increasingly porous.
The new creative director can be a perfumer.
The perfumer can become a cultural storyteller.
The fashion designer can become an olfactory author.
And the consumer becomes the final interpreter.
That is the real generational shift.
Not age.
Mindset.
FROM TUSCANY TO THE WORLD
Pasqualetti’s story remains deeply connected to Tuscany and to local craftsmanship, while his professional trajectory extends through Paris and the international fashion system. The LVMH Prize describes his practice as rooted in Italian sartorial heritage while exploring the space between traditional menswear and womenswear.
That duality may ultimately become his greatest strength.
Local roots.
Global ambition.
Italian craftsmanship.
International language.
Historical memory.
Contemporary experimentation.
This is not a contradiction.
This is the new Italian luxury.
WHEN FASHION BECOMES FRAGRANCE
A garment has a silhouette.
A fragrance has no visible shape.
A garment occupies space.
A fragrance transforms space.
A garment can be photographed.
A fragrance must be experienced.
And yet both can do the same thing:
They can create identity.
That is where Pasqualetti’s fashion and fragrance universes meet.
The body becomes the canvas.
The air becomes the medium.
The individual becomes the final creation.
NICCOLÒ PASQUALETTI
FASHION IS NO LONGER ONLY WHAT WE WEAR.
IT IS WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND.
